Father, we live in a world that has been cursed by our sin. Daily, we feel the consequences of our actions. Nothing here is perfect; mistakes are constantly made and our circumstances change as a result. Often, we feel that things are out of control. We admit that we try to be lord over our surroundings, but the chaos reminds us we are not sovereign, but that you are. When things do not go the way we wish them to, we are certain our circumstances are in your sovereign care. We are constantly forced to say, "Not my will, but thine." Thank you for the gift of chaos that forces us to again and again resubmit ourselves to you. Renew our desires so that we might desire the things you do. Transform our wills so that we might want the things you want. We submit ourselves under your mighty hand and trust that you are working all things for the good of your people. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
